Claim the frontier
Band together into a faction, plant outposts across a region, and tip the balance until it's yours to hold. Territory you control pays out, and rivals will come in force to take it back.

Follow the gate network from Haven into the Deep and the Dark. Every light is a system pilots can reach.
What is VAST?
You pilot a single ship in one shared, persistent galaxy. You fly and fight in real time. You line up your shots, angle your shields, and swap ammo on the fly, not by queuing orders in a menu. Between fights, you mine, refine, build ships and haul cargo. What you do next is your call. You can run quiet routes and get rich, or push into lawless space where the payouts are bigger and so is the risk.
You can hunt AI raiders and fleet-sized bosses for bounties and rare drops or fight other pilots for their cargo. The starter space is genuinely safe and policed. The deep frontier has no law at all. You decide how far out you fly and how far into the end-game of faction warfare, sieges, and holding territory you push.
Lose a fight in dangerous space and your ship, plus every module and everything in the hold, drops as a wreck for whoever's still standing. High stakes are the point. This makes a kill worth making and a haul worth guarding.
Almost nothing is given to you. Pilots mine the ore, refine it, build the ships, and stock the markets. Players open their own trade hubs and post hauling contracts. Prices and supply are set by people, not vendors.
Join a faction, plant outposts, and take a region for your own. It pays out while you hold it. Rivals can lay siege to your bases, but never by surprise. Attacks open a warning window first, so a defense can always be mustered.
At full release, VAST runs two servers side by side. One wipes every few months so everyone races from zero to the top, with no years-old economy to break into. The other is a separate persistent universe for players who want to build something lasting. The current alpha doesn't wipe yet.
You can fly, earn, and survive entirely on your own. Group up, and it pays more. Territory, big-boss raids, and drone wings all reward a fleet, but nothing forces you into one.
Why VAST, and not another space MMO? Big space MMOs are known for one thing that scares people off: an economy running for a decade that a newcomer can never break into. VAST's answer is a fresh-start server that wipes every few months. Everyone races from zero on equal footing, offering the clean slate those games never provide, with a persistent universe running alongside for the long-haul crowd. On top of that, you fly the ship with your own hands, and the fights are fast and close. The depth is there when you want it; it just isn't the price of admission.
The core loops: mine, build, fight, trade, and take ground.
Band together into a faction, plant outposts across a region, and tip the balance until it's yours to hold. Territory you control pays out, and rivals will come in force to take it back.
Settle the deep and fly your outpost's doors open as a Freeport. It will be the only place to trade for a whole region no one else can service. Set the terms; the credits follow.
Refine what you mine, fabricate your own hulls from fighters to capital warships, and research deeper blueprints at your bench. Almost nothing is bought; you build it.
Slot rare Neural Grafts straight into your own skull to sharpen your gunnery, mining, or training. The catch is that every graft dies with your body when your ship goes down.
Launch combat, mining, and support drones to fight what you lock, cut ore into your hold, or weave your shields back up. You can operate a whole wing without needing a second pilot.
Lock on, open fire, juggle your shields, and pick your ammo. Win and the wreck is yours. Lose, and your ship and everything aboard is left for the wolves.
Chart the dark for monuments the size of moons and the sealed vaults they guard. Bring a fleet. The field itself grounds your shields, and the wardens hit like gunships.
Dead warships still prowl the belts and wrecks, hungry for anything that moves. Put them down for the bounty that drives the economy and the rare gear they drop.
Real footage from the frontier: flight, combat, and the deep.
A galaxy of stations, dead armadas, and sealed vaults.
The deeper you go, the better the loot and the deadlier it gets.
Nothing out here is safe. Not the belts, not your cargo, not you.
